Collection 3.
To introduce 'Collection 3' - featuring baby bags and accessories - we headed north to warm weather, sunny skies, friendly smiles, and that relaxed vibe you lust for on a weekly (or in my case daily) basis...back to our heart's other home, Bali. We shot at our lovely friends' sprawling, leafy - and oozing loads of raw earthy textures - tranquil pad, tucked away down the back of a small lane way, on Bali's east coast.
Photographer Josh Patil captured the day, with stunning model and mama Joanne MacKay - setting that grounded, earthy vibe I really hoped to capture. Joanne's gorgeous little niece Charlie popped in and out of each 'look' and gave us all a great workout in our toddler-taming skills haha. This would also be the first professional shoot we've had, featuring 'mama + child' - and I'm so happy to look back on these images and know this is really where the brand's direction will take focus, now and into the future <3
'Collection 3' was inspired, or perhaps reincarnated from our first collection's style, dye colours and patterns. Moving forward into the digital age - as we shifted our production base - meant new techniques needed to be applied, and gifted textile/graphic designer Jacqueline Rosenthal, was able to bring our unique dye patterns to life through digital print. I love how the digital age can meet with artisanal hand-crafted techniques, to produce a unique layer to an existing style. In this case, we were able to manipulate imagery of our hand-dyed silks and batik coloured cottons, to create what resembles landscape aerial imagery - which I'm absolutely fascinated by and a huge fan of!
Still in-keeping with previous collections, I wanted to maintain true to using - for the majority - natural fibres, and also ensuring that printing inks used were non-toxic and environmentally friendly. This is an area I feel really strongly about, and I aim to continually work to further tighten up our methods, to align with our core ethos.
All in all, collectively we captured some beautiful images of our latest baby bag styles, which I hope can inspire and inject a little earthy zen into your everyday.
xx
